Our very own Petra was invited for the Celeste Prize exhibitionin the Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn New York.
There were 35 artist participating out of which one of them was Petra Valdimarsdóttir who is one of our dear friend and member of Agora Collective.
Her work ‘Come & Go’, which was awarded with the Hendrik Valk Price on July 9th 2010, was exhibited and one of the most commented in the event.
Her work consists of a wall of envelopes, in which each one contains a person who was sent to death row in the U.S. On the cover of the envelopes is one word, which was the last word the person said before being executed. Inside each envelope you will find details of the person, such as name, age, weight, what crime they committed and other personal details.
The wall will continue growing as long as death row continues to exist.
